Chef Benny在青年时期曾是一个瘾君子，而后，为了帮助有犯罪倾向的年轻人和有犯罪前科的人，他创立了Eighteen Chefs。现在，全岛五家Eighteen Chefs餐厅里，不仅提供中西混搭的美食和各种可以自选的烩饭和焗意大利面，还聘用和帮助那些改过自新的人，让他们有一份工作来维持生计。

正在国民服役的年轻人和本地学生每天都可以享受6元起的套餐，内含一份主食、一杯饮料和一份冰激凌，十分划算。

Chef Benny has stories to tell: the chef and entrepreneur spent a large chunk of his youth in and out of prison for heroin abuse. Happily, he’s now the founder and director of Eighteen Chefs, a restaurant serving up great fusion cuisine at reasonable prices. Five Eighteen Chefs outlets also train and employ at-risk youth and former offenders.

Bettr Barista

帮助经济状况不好的妇女

一杯香醇的咖啡或许就能让他人学会一项的技能来安身立命呢。这就是成立于2011年的Bettr Barista，它是一家环境清新小资的咖啡馆，同时也培训经济状况不佳的妇女制作咖啡的技艺。除了教给她们这项技术，Bettr Barista还在就业方面支持和帮助她们——这些教育和就业方面的投入都是由咖啡馆的盈利来支撑的。

Every cup of coffee you drank could help make someone’s life better. Set up by Pamela in 2011, Bettr Barista trains disadvantaged women in the art of coffee-making. It also provides them support, employment and job placement. These are people who love their coffee, and they make sure every cup tastes good and looks beautiful.

Bliss

帮助低收入的乐龄人士

Bliss营业十几年来为本地就业率做贡献：除了零丁几个违反规定的员工被开除外，Bliss从未解雇过餐厅员工。此外，Bliss还将用过的油再循环用来制作生物柴油，将使用过的食物盒和罐头捐给低收入的乐龄人士使用，还通过阿裕尼集选区捐献蔬菜水果给需要的低收入居民。

白酒青口（$12）和西冷牛排（$15）好吃又不贵，Bliss还没有10%的服务费，只有7%的消费税，花园式的就餐环境，物美价廉，又能支持他们为低收入人群提供的帮助，是一个聚餐的好选择。

In the early 2000s when Christina Low set Bliss up, she simply wanted to offer a job to anyone willing to work. With the exception of one or two who were let go for offense on the job, she has never turned anyone away from her restaurants. Besides, Bliss recycles all the waste oil to biodiesel, donates all used carton box & canned tin to low-income elderly resident, and donate groceries to low-income needy resident thru Aljunied GRC.

Breakthrough Cafe

帮助瘾君子重返社会

突破咖啡馆2007年开业之初至今，就是一个让戒毒之后的瘾君子们重新改造，学会一技之长并重返社会、继续生活的咖啡馆。一份份美味的猪肠粉、糯米饭和红烧排骨的背后，是食客和社会对于他们学习技能、重返社会的帮助和支持。

Officially launched in 2007,Breakthrough cafe offers reformed drug addicts the much needed employment opportunities where they can further their skills and be better prepared in reintegrating into the society. Wether you’re enjoying the silky smooth rice noodles of their chee cheong fun or the sticky sauce of their braised pork ribs, you’re helping someone remake his life.

Food for Thought

盈利捐赠给第三世界国家的人士

Food for Thought在全岛有三家分店，员工中不乏单亲家长和其他需要照顾小孩和家人的中年人士。通过更灵活的上班时间，让他们在有工可做的同时，也能照顾家人。此外，Food for Thought的盈利还用来给第三世界国家提供清洁的饮用水、确保本地儿童等需要帮助的人士的温饱等等，为社会出一份力。

Food for Thought believes in helping families become stronger. They give special support to single parents and mature workers(above 40 years old) who want to keep working but need flexible working hours to take care of childrens and other family members. Profits go to aiding starving children, the poor and the illiterate.

Laksania

帮助有生理疾病和心理疾病的人

叻沙是深受大家喜爱的一种本地美食，而2008年创立的Laksania餐厅推出了六种风格各异的叻沙美食，满足大家的不同需求。此外，Laksania的中央厨房还培训和雇佣本地因生理或者心理疾病而难以就业的人士，帮助他们自力更生。

Laksania除了传统的叻沙和面条外，还创新地开发出了叻沙意面、叻沙汉堡、叻沙炒饭、叻沙火锅等菜品，让人眼前一亮。

Laksania believes that work allows marginalised groups remember that they’re not about to be forgotten and abandoned by the rest of society. A job at Laksania not only offers them a chance to be seen as normal people, just like the rest of us, but also easing their financial dependency on people who care for them.

Nox Dining in the Dark

帮助有视觉障碍的人群

在黑暗中用餐，虽然不能拿出手机拍拍拍然后发朋友圈、Insta等等，但是其他的感官，如嗅觉、味觉、触觉等会更加灵敏。NOX就是一家如此特别的餐厅，和本地慈善组织（Singapore Assoication for the Visually Impaired）合作，雇用有视觉障碍的人来做服务生，不仅给予他们一份力所能及的工作，而且让食客们在享用美食的同时，感同身受。

NOX的套餐人均八十，且需要提前预定。但是这样的一份体验想必值回这个高价。

Dinner at NOX is an unusual experience. For one, you don’t get to see what you’re eating. The dine-in-the-dark concept means diners are plunged into total darkness as soon as they step from the bar into the restaurant. And they're likely to be led to their tables, seated and served by a waiter who is blind.

Nox worked with the Singapore Association for the Visually Impaired to find blind servers, believing they’d be the best for the job. Chef Desmond Lee serves up smells, tastes and textures to tantalize even the most seasoned taste buds, but there’s a chance doing good will make your dinner taste even better.

Professor Brawn's cafe

帮助孤独患者

Professor Brawn是一个患有孤独症的孩子所创造出来的人物，而他的父亲Roland Tay因此开设了一家餐厅，帮助孤独症患者就业和适应社会。同时，也引起人们对于孤独症的关注和重视。

10元到16元不等的套餐中包含一份主食，一道每日例汤和一杯饮品，而招牌菜fish and chips也深受大家欢迎。

The cafe provides employment opportunities to people with learning disabilities. Their mission is to raise awareness for people suffering from autism and also ensure that they do not feel excluded from society. Founder and owner Roland Tay said the cafe was inspired by his son Jun-Yi who was autistic. And the character Professor Brawn is created and drawn by Jun-Yi.
